On September 26, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Zahorodniuk held a meeting with a delegation of the United States of America led by the Strategic Level Advisor on the Reform of the Defense Industry of Ukraine Dr. Donald Winter.

At the beginning of the meeting, Donald Winter presented US certificates that would allow Ukrainian defense industry enterprises to conduct maintenance of MI helicopters for the needs of foreign customers. Minister of Defense of Ukraine thanked Donald Winter and the US Government for their assistance and support in reforming of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the reform and development of the defense procurement system. In particular, they discussed the need to ensure the transparency of this process in order to minimize any corruption risks in the aforesaid sector.

Attention was also focused on priority areas for the development of military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and the United States of America. In particular, the implementation of a project on the procurement of weapons under the program of the United States Government “Foreign Military Sales” and the development of scientific and technical component.
