
Minister of Defense of Ukraine held a number of important meetings during a working visit to NATO Headquarters
On 25 October, as part of a working visit to NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Minister of Defense Andriy Zagorodnyuk participated in a meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of Defense Ministers of the contributor states to NATO’s “Resolute Support” training and advisory mission in Islamic Republic of Afghanistan .
During a brief but meaningful conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the Minister of Defense spoke about the state of reform of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, emphasizing that joining NATO remains a key priority of the Ukrainian defense agency. The current situation in the East of Ukraine and in the Azov and Black Sea regions was also discussed. Andriy Zagorodnyuk made a proposal to make the format of cooperation more practical.
Minister of Defense of Ukraine has also held important bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts from France, Italy, Georgia and Sweden.
This is the first foreign working visit of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and it took place at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, which is a landmark event.
