Ministry of Energy informs about the work of the energy system of Ukraine as of May 10, 2022

Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 10 May 2022 15:48

Over the past 24 hours, power supply to about 30,000 consumers has been restored.

In particular, in Kyiv and Donetsk regions – 9,400 each, Kharkiv region – 6,500, Mykolaiv region – 1,600, Zaporizhia region – 1,000, Chernihiv and Sumy regions - 900 consumers each, Dnipropetrovsk region - 300 consumers.

Gas supply has been restored to more than 2,000 households.

Ukrainian energy companies make every effort to quickly restore energy supply to Ukrainian citizens.

However, in some areas, emergency recovery work is difficult or impossible due to the intensification of hostilities and occurrence of new damage.

As of May 10, about 817 settlements in Ukraine remain without electricity, in total about 752,800 consumers. In particular, in Donetsk region – 354,000 consumers, Kharkiv – 167,000, Luhansk - more than 128,200.

More than 217,000 subscribers remain without gas supply. The most difficult situation with gas supply is observed in Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions.

Electricity:

Ukraine's energy system works synchronously with the ENTSO-E continental European energy system. The frequency in the network is maintained at the standard level of 50 Hz. All types of power plants operate stably in the network.

In the north-eastern region, NEC Ukrenergo has completed inspections of two 330 kV lines and is starting restoration work in these lines: elimination of wire breaks, lightning protection cables, replacement of insulators.

In the north, repairs are underway at five 330-750 kV substations, and the replacement of open switchgear equipment (switches, measuring transformers, etc.) continues.

Nuclear generation:

All nuclear power plants in Ukraine produce electricity stably. The total current capacity of power units provides the necessary amounts of electricity for the needs of the country.

Radiation, fire and environmental conditions at the industrial sites of nuclear power plants and adjacent territories have not changed and are within current standards.

Gas transmission system:

The GTS operator of Ukraine continues to provide gas transportation for the needs of Ukrainian consumers - industry, institutions, households, electricity companies. OGTS repair crews are carrying out repair and restoration work at facilities located in the territories liberated from the russian occupiers.

Hydropower industry:

Hydropower plants operate on a regular basis according to the schedule and being guided by the teams of dispatchers.

Full-time operational staff are on duty. The company's stations employees continue to carry out scheduled repairs of hydraulic units, as well as reconstruction of equipment aimed at extending the service life of hydraulic facilities, increasing the installed capacity of HPPs and PSPs, and improving the quality of electricity produced.
