Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Scott Nathan, Chief Executive Officer of DFC, and Julie Monaco, Managing Director of Citi's Corporate Banking Division, signed a Memorandum on the development of the mortgage housing market in Ukraine.
The meeting was held in the framework of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2024) in Berlin.
The participants of the meeting agreed to hold consultations to assess potential co-financing and credit support opportunities and to work together to find financing opportunities for the Ukrainian mortgage market.
According to the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine, the agreement will create conditions for attracting guarantees and long-term financial resources to finance the housing sector through mortgage programmes, including eOselia.
"russia's military aggression against Ukraine has resulted in the destruction of housing stock and the forced displacement of about 6.5 million Ukrainians, according to various estimates. We appreciate the willingness of our American partners to engage in cooperation. We are grateful to our partners for their willingness to provide advice and work together to find ways to support and finance the mortgage market in Ukraine. We hope that this will enable more Ukrainians to buy their own homes in the future," said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
The parties also discussed joint work to support the Ukrainian mortgage market in the context of russia's military aggression against Ukraine, which has led to the destruction of the housing stock.
