Ministry of Finance welcomes the decision of the Parliament to appoint a new Governor of the National Bank

Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the appointment of Kyryl Shevchenko as the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine.

"We welcome the appointment of a new Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine. Balanced monetary and fiscal policies have become the basis for Ukraine's macroeconomic stability, which has allowed us to enter the global financial and economic crisis caused by the spread of the coronavirus, with much stronger macroeconomic indicators than during previous economic crises. We expect prudent monetary policy and constructive cooperation be prolonged between the National Bank of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine aimed to pursue the policy of macroeconomic stability," said Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko.
