Today, Ukraine received a USD 88.6 million tranche from the World Bank to reimburse the government expenses for academic and social scholarships. These funds were provided by the bank in the framework of the project "Improving Higher Education for Results" project implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

In March 2022, the World Bank approved the restructuring of the Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results project. Component 5 "Support for academic scholarships provided by the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as social scholarships provided by the Ministry of Social Policy for students of higher education institutions" was added to the project structure.

These funds have already been transferred to the general fund of the state budget of Ukraine.
