Ministry of Finance: In May, 4,074 loans to the tune of UAH 15.269 billion were issued by banks under the state guarantees on a portfolio basis
As part of the support of micro, small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine since the beginning of the use of the instrument of state guarantees on a portfolio basis since December 2020, 12,729 loans totaling UAH 39.830 billion have been issued.
As of June 1, 2022, 24 lending banks are servicing 12,592 loans worth UAH 39.415 billion. Liabilities for principal debt, partially secured by government guarantees on a portfolio basis, amounted to UAH 25.468 billion. This is about 73% of the total limit of provided guarantees (UAH 35.014 billion).
At that, in May of this year 4,074 credit agreements worth UAH 15.269 billion were concluded with the share of the main debt obligations guaranteed by the state in the amount of UAH 11.090 billion.
JSC CB Privatbank is the leader in the number of loans issued under state guarantees on a portfolio basis - currently 8,193 loans totaling UAH 12.169 billion are serviced, which is 84% of the limit of such guarantees provided to this bank. The second largest number of such loans is Oschadbank JSC - 2,042 loans totaling UAH 6.794 billion (respectively - 89% of the bank's limit).
The program is most in demand in Odesa region, where a total of 936 loans worth UAH 3.068 billion have been issued. In Kirovohrad region 677 such loans were issued to the tune of UAH 3.039 billion, in Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,164 loans for UAH 2.724 billion and in Kyiv region - 651 loans for UAH 2.700 billion.
By type of economic activity, most loans, partially secured by state guarantees on a portfolio basis, were issued in the following areas:
- agriculture – 6,849 loans worth UAH 29.056 billion;
- wholesale and retail trade, repair of vehicles – 3,272 loans totaling UAH 5.195 billion;
- processing industry - 946 loans totalling UAH 3.166 billion.
