    The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine in synergy with the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) established an interdepartmental expert group on critical infrastructure protection, which will become a platform for the creation of the National List of critical infrastructure objects, as well as the determination of the grounds for classification and certification of the aforesaid facilities.

    The expert group shall also develop proposals for the First Vice Prime Minister on new tools for protecting critical infrastructure objects.

    Within the responsibility of the expert group is coordination of the activities of government authorities. Yuriy Brovchenko, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine was appointed head of the expert group. Other representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, as well as the SBU, SFS, SES, Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the National Bank of Ukraine, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the Ministry for the Temporary Occupied Territories and Displaced Persons, the State Agency of Water Resources and the State Ecological Inspection will comprise the expert group.

    "We believe that the establishment of such expert group would provide the Ministry, as the coordinator of the creation of a state system for the protection of critical infrastructure, the opportunity to develop effective tools for solving problem issues in this area for the period of up to the adoption by the Parliament of the Law of Ukraine "On critical infrastructure". The first meeting of the newly formed expert group is scheduled for September 2018, and the current activity is the preparatory work held along critical infrastructure sectors in order to determine the most problematic issues", said Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Yurii Brovchenko.
