Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture in synergy with FAO launch program to support agricultural households in Dnipropetrovsk region

The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and with financial support from the Government of Norway, is launching a new program to support rural households in the Petrykivka community of Dnipropetrovsk region. The initiative aims to develop vegetable and berry production and strengthen food security at the local level.

Rural households and individual entrepreneurs who cultivate between 0.05 and 10 hectares of agricultural land are invited to participate. Recipients will be selected based on socio-economic vulnerability and development potential.

Importantly, participation is open only to users registered in the State Agrarian Register (SAR).

Applications can be submitted through the SAR from April 10 to 22, 2026.

Selected participants will obtain:

  • vouchers worth USD 3,000 (in hryvnia equivalent) for the purchase of resources and equipment;
  • opportunity to purchase greenhouses, irrigation systems, seeds, water tanks, and other materials;
  • access to training and technical support (climate-optimized production, efficient irrigation, soil management, business planning).

The total aid budget amounts to USD 150,000 (over UAH 6.5 million).

“The development of small-scale producers means supporting individual farms and ensuring the resilience of local economies. They form the foundation of communities’ food security, create jobs, and supply local markets with produce. Together with international partners, we are expanding access to resources, knowledge, and technologies that will help them grow and operate more efficiently,” said Denys Bashlyk, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The program is being implemented as part of a project by the FAO and the Government of Norway with a total budget of USD 4 million, aimed at supporting rural communities in Ukraine’s frontline regions and facilitating their early recovery.
