Average wage in Ukraine has grown by 15.7% for a year

The average nominal wage in Ukraine in February 2021 increased to UAH 12,549, according to the State Statistics Service.

Compared to January of the current year, the size of the average nominal salary increased by 1.7%, and for the year (relative to February 2020) - by 15.7%. Compared to February 2020, the average salary in February 2021 increased by more than UAH 2,000.

It should be noted, the minimum salary in Ukraine makes up UAH 6,000. Thus, the average wage in February this year exceeds the minimum level by more than 2 times.

The index of real wages in February 2021, compared to January 2021 was 100.7%, and compared to February 2020 - 107.6%.

The largest increase in the average salary of full-time employees in February 2021 compared to February 2020 was in Rivne (by 22.3%), Chernivtsi (by 21.1%) and Khmelnytsky (by 21.1%) regions.

The highest level of salaries in February was recorded in Kyiv city (UAH 18,504), the lowest - in Kirovohrad region (UAH 9,903).

The highest salary was received by employees in the field of information and telecommunications - UAH 23,001, as well as financial and insurance activities - UAH 22,319, the lowest – by employees involved in the organization of food and temporary accommodation - UAH 7,892.

The amount of wage arrears of enterprises across Ukraine since December last year decreased by UAH 271 million - from UAH 3,485 million (as of December 1, 2020) to UAH 3,214 million (as of March 1, 2021).
