Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, posted 06 May 2022 17:38

The President of Ukraine has inked the Law №2220-IX on the Simplification of Unemployment Assistance Procedures. The document provides for the following:

All internally displaced persons (IDPs) and people in areas of active hostilities will be granted an unemployment status from the 1st day of registration at the employment center and will receive unemployment assistance.

It is not necessary to visit the employment center in person to confirm the status - you can use the phone, communicate information via messenger, e-mail, etc.

People who have not had an opportunity to terminate their employment and withdraw their employment history booklet will also be able to register as unemployed by submitting an application. At the same time, the State Employment Service informs the employer, the Pension Fund and the Tax Service, and receives data on length of service from state registers.

Additional economic incentives are being introduced for employers who employ internally displaced persons. Meanwhile, IDPs who want to start their own businesses will receive financial assistance from the state.

The program of providing partial unemployment assistance, which will be extended to small enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in case employees lose part of their salary due to the suspension or reduction of production (performance of works, provision of services), is being improved.

It makes it easier for employers to obtain or renew a work permit for foreigners and stateless persons. The documents will be sent to the State Employment Service in any convenient way. Exceptions will cover the citizens of russia and belarus - this situation requires the approval of the SBU.

“The Government will continue to pursue the policy of maximum employment of Ukrainians. After all, this is the key to economic recovery through the revival of production and intensification of consumer demand, and thus accelerating the process of overcoming all the devastating effects of the war," said First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

It should be noted, earlier the Government adopted the resolution by which it simplified registration in the State Employment Service of the Ukrainians who had lost work during martial law. Individuals who do not have a complete package of documents to apply, will be able to register for unemployment status under a simplified procedure - through the Diia application or portal.
