The document from 2021 will launch at the national level the initiative of large-scale forestation of Ukraine - "Green Country".

According to Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Roman Abramobsky, the forest has been and remains our main ally in the fight against climate change. "Only by significantly increasing the afforestation area we will be able to increase CO2 absorption. Therefore, the next 10 years, I would call the years of preservation and reproduction of forests in Ukraine, " the Minister stressed.

The national initiative "Green Country" envisages:

• preservation and reproduction of forests, including self-seeding;
• increasing the area of forests;
• stimulation of afforestation;
• conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems;
• improving the management system of state forestry enterprises;
• involvement of schoolchildren, students and public organizations in afforestation, preservation and restoration of forests.
