Ukraine sees now in great demand for change, first of all, changes in the decision-making system, and possesses great potential to become a real regional leader. But those changes can only be realized together, using experience, desire and love for the motherland.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said during the Youth Forum State Builders in Action. The Forum gathered participants of the State Builder program, which enables young people aged 18 to 25 to undergo internships in executive authorities and participate in the process of decision-making in various fields. The authors of the program are the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ukrainian Leadership Academy. Last year the program was held as pilot. Its participants were 46 students, nine of whom successfully underwent internships, won in personnel competitions and are now working in executive authorities.
This year, 18 state authorities, 15 large companies and 15 non-governmental organizations joined the program. Among the participants are 100 young people from all regions of Ukraine. All of them have passed a large competition, which was up to 5 candidates for a position in the program.
In his address to the participants, Volodymyr Groysman emphasized that the Forum participants are truly indifferent, real leaders, ready to change their lives around.
"Today there is a great demand for qualitative change, for accelerating change within the country. We all want to live in a democratic European country, where each of us can realize his/her potential", said Volodymyr Groysman. "It is clear that the state is a compex mechanism, a complex system, sometimes hostile - because it is too conservative and does not allow to quickly adopt efficient decisions. But when we talk about change, we must talk about each of us, because all of us are the triggers of change."
The Head of Government stressed that Ukrainians have a great value – our native state. And none other than Ukrainian will be able to make it better. The Head of Government proved this thesis on his own example, when he came to politics at the age of 24 - initially at the local level, and then at the national level.
"I want to emphasize: all together we are making the necessary changes. Hence, we have to be active and believe that we are capable to bring about transformations. This is an idea that we must never abandon. Today you have a unique opportunity - to come, see and change. This is my job. Much more needs to be done to make the changes inevitable and tangible for everyone. And we must make these changes in synergy", said Volodymyr Groysman.
The PM added that the slogan "Ukraine is not just a spot on the map" is not just words. "This is our destiny. We have a huge potential to make our country a regional leader. We must believe in that, we should work on that. This is my clear position", added the Prime Minister.
This year the program State Builder will be held in three stages: the National Program of Personal and Professional Development of Youth (10-day course of lectures, trainings, seminars, acquaintances with the work of the authorities, the media, private companies), Regional Programs (a two-week practical course) and the Final event for the participants in December this year.
