  • Vladyslav Kryklii: Ukraine and Qatar will liberalize air transportation

    On November 11, Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine hosted a meeting between Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii and  Mr. Abdulla bin Nasser Turki Al-Subaey, President of the Civil Aviation Authority of Qatar. The meeting was also attended by Head of State Aviation Service of Ukraine Olexander Bilchyk, representatives of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Ukraine and Qatar Civil Aviation Authority.

    Within the framework of the meeting the parties signed a Protocol between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Qatar on amendments and additions to the Agreement on air traffic.

    The Minister stressed that signing of the said Protocol will allow liberalizing the conditions of regular air transportations between two countries.

    "We are liberalizing air traffic between Ukraine and the state of Qatar. The signing of today’s protocol will allow expanding the access of airlines of both countries to the air transportation market, eliminating restrictions on the number of flights, types of aircraft, and also destinations in the territories of both countries," Vladyslav Kryklii underlined.

    The Minister of Infrastructure  admitted that the signing of the Protocol would enable the creation and operation of a reliable legal mechanism of an international level for the implementation and intensification of the process of bilateral interstate relations between the states, and will also contribute to the development of cooperation in the field of air transport, tourism and the further expansion of the geography of the airlines’ flights.

    In turn, the President of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority noted that this day is remarkable for both countries. The signing of the said Protocol opens up new opportunities and testifies to the cooperation of Ukraine and Qatar at the highest level.
