On November 23, a representative delegation of Ministers for European Affairs of the EU member states led by Austrian Federal Minister for the EU and Constitution Karoline Edtstadler visited Kyiv.

It was on this day that our capital was subjected to another severe missile attack. European guests visited the site of the impact of several enemy missiles and saw the consequences of the strikes with their own eyes.

Also, the guests of Ukraine had an opportunity to witness the work of law enforcement officers documenting war crimes committed by the russian military as well as efforts of emergency workers responding to consequences of the missile attack. Burnt out cars, destroyed buildings and blood of the victims literally shocked the foreign delegation.

At the scene, a representative of the State Emergency Service briefed on the course of rescue operations, efforts to extinguish the cars that caught fire as a result of the missile attack, evacuating people and providing first aid to the injured. Specifically, three dead bodies and eight injured people with explosive wounds of varying severity were found at the scene. Among the victims, is a 17-year-old girl who was passing by with her friend. The fire was extinguished within an hour.

The members of the foreign delegation left candles at the site of the tragedy as a sign of mourning and expressed condolences to the families of the victims and the entire Ukrainian people, who are now forced to defend themselves from the barbaric actions of the aggressive neighbor. They assured of unchanged policy of further support for Ukraine in this unequal struggle against the military aggression of the current kremlin regime.

“We saw undisguised emotions on the faces of ministers and high representatives of European governments. They could not hold back tears. People who have been observing what is happening in Ukraine for several months, when they find themselves at the place where a missile arrived an hour ago and where the dead bodies have not yet been taken away, understand that when Ukraine asks for help, it is not an abstraction, it is real challenges caused by daily attacks on civilians. They saw the difficult conditions of work of our rescuers, police investigative teams, forensic experts who document the evidence of war crimes of the russian federation, of which more than 43 thousand have already been registered,” commented Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mary Hakobyan on the visit of the foreign delegation to the site of russian missile strike on Kyiv.
