Since the beginning of the year, almost 12,000 agricultural enterprises have received UAH 62 billion in bank loans for the development of farms. Of these, more than 9,300 enterprises received UAH 35.9 billion in loans under the Government’s Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme.

Agricultural enterprises in the following regions received the largest amount of loans under various programmes:

• Kyiv region – UAH 11.7 billion (878 enterprises);
• Vinnytsia region – UAH 5.6 billion (1,375),
• Dnipropetrovsk region – UAH 5.58 billion (780);
• Kirovohrad region – UAH 4.6 billion (1,624);
• Odesa region – UAH 4.22 billion (1,053).

The following regions received the most loans under the Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme:

• Kirovohrad region – UAH 3.98 billion (1,294 enterprises);
• Vinnytsia region – UAH 3.7 billion (1,043);
• Odesa region – UAH 3.57 billion (849);
• Kyiv region – UAH 3.35 billion (707).

Background

The Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme simplifies access to bank lending for micro and small businesses. Farmers can receive a loan of up to UAH 90 million. Loans are provided at 5-9% per annum, depending on the loan category and type of business entity.
