Almost UAH 3 billion in additional subsidies for local budgets: Government approves the distribution of funding for education and healthcare institutions in 2026
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a resolution drafted by the Ministry of Finance, which approves the distribution of additional subsidies from the state budget to local budgets in the amount of UAH 2.95 billion in 2026. The funds are intended to finance expenditures for educational and healthcare institutions administered by local governments. This decision allows communities and regions to receive the necessary resources in a timely manner for the stable operation of schools, hospitals, and other socially important institutions.
The distribution of the additional subsidy was prepared by regional state administrations and approved by the Government in accordance with the requirements of budget legislation. According to the proposals submitted, the funds are distributed between regional budgets and the budgets of territorial communities.
The decision was made in accordance with the provisions of the Budget Code of Ukraine and the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2026” and does not provide for an increase in expenditures, since all funds have already been appropriated in the State Budget for 2026. In total, the 2026 budget envisages UAH 8.94 billion for the program of additional subsidies to local budgets, of which UAH 2.95 billion is earmarked specifically to cover expenditures for educational and healthcare institutions in Ukraine.
