A large-scale exhibition “The Future of Demining: Ukraine in Action” took place recently at the Demining Training and Testing Facility in Lviv region having gathered over 200 participants – Ukrainian equipment producers, innovators, government officials, international partenrs, operators of humanitarian demining and farmers.

During the two days the participants had a chance to see field-tested 12 pieces of equipment, in particular those from the Global Clearance Solutions Ukraine and DOK-ING, as well as modern Ukrainian machines from Rovertech, Kharkiv Special Motor Vehicle Plant, TDC (Ukrainian Specialized Equipment) plant.

Representatives of twenty Ukrainian companies from across the country presented their solutions and technologies. In particular:

  • armoured land drone from Efarm Pro;
  • the latest means of remote detection and destruction of explosive objects from Ukroboronservice, which burns explosives without explosion;
  • universal modular cumulative system “Spalakh” for the disposal of ammunition from CLEAN MAP LLC, which destroys ammunition without detonation and destructive effect;
  • a technical assistance vehicle from Kharkiv Special Motor Vehicle Plant;
  • a Trembita metal detector from Active Alliance LLC;
  • a multi-purpose platform from RISK CONTROL LLC.

Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Ihor Bezkaravaynyi stressed the importance of cross-sector coordination in strengthening the country’s demining industry to ensure Ukrainian producers and innovators feel support and know that their solutions are important and in demand by the state today.

“We’re all parts of the same puzzle that shapes Ukraine’s humanitarian mine action market. Developers, innovators, farmers, government officials, and operators – we’re united by one goal: making Ukrainian land safe,” Ihor Bezkorovaynyi said.

The Deputy Minister of Economy also emphasized that the Ministry of Economy has a lot to offer Ukrainian producers - in particular, the state support program "Made in Ukraine".

“I believe that the technologies developed and presented here today by the Ukrainian manufacturers could become a global benchmark. Therefore, supporting each of your ideas, helping to put them on the rails and showing the world how far Ukrainians have come in the field of humanitarian demining is a priority for us," added Ihor Bezkaravaynyi.

During the exhibition peculiar attention was paid to demonstration of the equipment on obstacle courses with mock explosive devices, and other scenario-based challenges in realistic field conditions. Four vehicles drove along a track with explosive mockups and simulated a humanitarian demining scenario. Participants had the opportunity not only to see the developments but also to communicate personally with their development teams. Manufacturers had the opportunity to test the equipment on different types of soil and vegetation, to practice handling in different landscape conditions and to understand the shortcomings.

“We’re witnessing how Ukraine is advancing innovation and domestic production to address the complex challenges posed by explosive contamination. This exhibition is more than a showcase – it demonstrates how partnership, trust, and support for Ukrainian developers can drive real, lasting change,” noted Edward Crowther, Field Operations Advisor at UNDP Mine Action Programme in Ukraine.

The event “The Future of Demining: Ukraine in Action” was organized by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the Humanitarian Demining Centre, with support from UNDP in Ukraine and funding from the Government of Luxembourg.
