At a meeting on August 4, the Government decided to pay compensation to people in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions who had lost their crops due to the russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"As a result of the dam explosion, many areas were flooded and people lost their gardens and crops. We will help them. We envisage payments of UAH 3,300 for the lost vegetable harvest on each hundred square meters of private garden land," said Denys Shmyhal.
The maximum amount of assistance, according to the Prime Minister, will be up to UAH 100,000. For this purpose, the Government has allocated UAH 271 million to Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
The Cabinet of Ministers has also approved a resolution that will allow UAH 95 million to be transferred from the account of the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories to the NBU for the needs of citizens evacuating from the combat areas and to support those in the de-occupied territories.
"The amount of assistance to people in these liberated settlements will remain unchanged and will amount to UAH 3,000 for people with disabilities and children; UAH 2,000 for other people," said Denys Shmyhal.
