The number of employees in Ukraine, who get salary of over UAH 10 thousand amounted to 26.8%, according to the data provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine after the analysis of the calculated salaries in June of the current year. Last year this indicator made up 17%.
The share of those earning the minimum wage decreased from 9 % in 2017 to 7.4 % in 2018. At the same time, the minimum wage increased from UAH 3200 to UAH 3723 .
The number of workers with wages up to UAH 4 thousand has fallen from 24.4% in 2017 to 15.4% in 2018. At the same time, the share of employees who receive salaries worth UAH 8-10 thousand per year increased from 9.4% to 11%. The number of employees earning 6-8 thousand UAH is relatively stable. According to the results of June, they were 15.2% against 15.5% a year earlier.
Wage and its distribution prove the general tendency towards positive economic dynamics in the country.
Background
The economy of Ukraine is growing for ten consecutive quarters, according to the data released by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. Thus, Ukraine’s GDP in the second quarter of this year amounted to 3.6% compared with the same period last year.
Increase in exports of goods contributed to the economic upturn. In the first half, the growth of the export index amounted to 12.7% compared with same period of the last year. Export turnover exceeded $ 23.2 billion, exports of goods and services grew by 5.7 % to $ 5.38 billion and exceeded import figures. Over the first six months a positive trade balance amounted to $2.8 billion.
The European Union remains a key market for Ukraine. Export to the EU in the first half of 2018 exceeded a sum worth $ 11.1 billion.
At the same time, the consumer price index in June made up 0, and in July, for the first time over the last period, a deflation was recorded at the rate of 0.7%.
