Kharkiv region has been provided with the necessary funding and energy equipment for the heating season: Denys Shmyhal
The Cabinet of Ministers is making every effort to ensure that people in Kharkiv and the region have heat and light. This was emphasised by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during his working visit to Kharkiv region on 5 December.
He emphasised that the development of distributed generation was one of the key areas of the Government’s preparation for the heating season.
“In Kharkiv region, the main heat generation facilities have been damaged as a result of numerous russian attacks. In order to provide people with heat this winter, the region received the necessary energy equipment in addition to the funds,” said Denys Shmyhal.
Together with government officials, the Prime Minister inspected a 5 MW modular gas boiler house that Ukraine received from UNICEF. Its installation is already being completed. The plan is to build two more units with capacities of 2 MW and 20 MW. According to Denys Shmyhal, this will help provide heat supply for 4,000 residents of the community.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Government had allocated a total of UAH 2.4 billion to Kharkiv region to prepare for the heating season.
“There are 913 Points of Invincibility deployed in the region. The region’s heat, water and sewage companies have more than 1,200 generators of various capacities. Heat suppliers are provided with 39 cogeneration units,” the Head of Government said.
