  • Ministry of Justice leadership discusses improvement of the judicial system of Ukraine with international partners

    Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine for European Integration Liudmyla Suhak, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olena Vysotska and Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Oleksandr Banchuk met with representatives of the EU Project "Pravo-Justice II", the agency Expertise France AFD Group and the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

    At the beginning of the meeting, Project Manager Oksana Tsymbrivska presented the work plan for the third phase of the Project ("Pravo-Justice III").

    Liudmyla Sugak expressed her gratitude to the Project representatives for the support provided during the second phase and hopes for further fruitful cooperation during the implementation of the third phase of the Project, in particular in terms of joining the implementation of the Ukraine Facility/Ukraine Plan for 2024-2027 in the judicial and bankruptcy sectors.

    Oleksandr Banchuk raised the issue of further support for the digital tool "Online Monitoring" for collecting and analyzing information as part of the work on monitoring of regulatory acts.

    The meeting's participants also touched upon the issue of providing international technical assistance in the penitentiary sector.

    According to Olena Vysotska, the following issues are currently relevant for the penitentiary system of Ukraine:

    • creation of a mobile application that simplifies the lives of clients and probation officers;
    • psychological assistance to convicts;
    • construction and reconstruction of prison infrastructure and provision of penitentiary facilities with video surveillance cameras and body cameras;
    • creation of a camp for prisoners of war of the russian federation.
