We are rescuing everyone on the right bank and developing a plan to help people on the left bank. This was stated by Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko in a TV broadcast.

At the moment, evacuation operations are underway in Kherson region. Rescuers, police and volunteers have already evacuated 1,894 citizens.

“The evacuation will last until sunset and we will continue it in the morning. Currently, 30 settlements remain in the flood zone. 20 of them are in the government-controlled area and 10 in the temporarily occupied area. And I want to say that the occupiers are not evacuating people on the left bank of the Dnipro at all. They have abandoned them to their fate. That is why we have now turned to international organisations and are developing a plan to save our people,” said Ihor Klymenko.

The Minister stressed that rescuers would come to the aid of anyone who needed help in time.

“All people we evacuate are provided with food and water. That is the first problem now. But the leadership of the military-civilian administration and the headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the technogenic disaster have done everything to ensure that no one needs drinking water and has no problems with movement,” he said.

Ihor Klymenko also said that 8 evacuation points had been set up so far. All the people are in a safe place and are receiving help there.
