To continue bilateral cooperation in science and technology between Ukraine and the United States of America, the Government decided to ratify the Agreement in the form of an exchange of notes on cooperation in science and technology dated December 4, 2006. In particular, the relevant orders of the Cabinet of Ministers and the draft law, which will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, were supported by the Government at its session.
"The integration of research and technology is an important step to increase the prestige of Ukrainian scientists and researchers. Ratification of the Agreement will help expand Ukraine's participation in international scientific and technical cooperation and develop Ukraine's research capabilities, as well as open new conditions for Ukrainian scientists to conduct important research," said Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet.
Therefore, once the parties have completed their internal procedures necessary to extend the effect of the Agreement, scientists and researchers will have the following opportunities:
• exchange of scientific and technical information, experience and research methodology;
• joint work in scientific and technical fields of mutual interest;
• development of direct contacts and cooperation between government agencies, universities, research centers, departments and other organizations of the two countries.
