A meeting on the problems of internally displaced persons residing in Dnipropetrovsk region was held today in Dnipro chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by heads of district military administrations, heads of territorial communities of Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Ukrainian MPs, including Dmytro Pryputen, Maksym Buzhanskyi, Roman Kaptelov, Olena Kryvoruchkina, Hanna Lichman and others.
During the meeting, the issues of support for internally displaced persons in the region were discussed. The leadership of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration reported on the timely payment of social assistance to IDPs. Thus, UAH 4.4 billion was paid in January-May 2023.
The meeting also focused on a Coordination and Advisory Centre for Civilian Support, which will be launched next week.
“It is important that such centres become a tool for interaction between local communities, central government, international and civil society organisations. This format of cooperation will help maximise the benefits of government, international and other donor resources. The aim is to provide services to internally displaced persons, veterans and other groups of citizens affected by russian aggression. The centres will coordinate the provision of a wide range of assistance. This includes psychological, legal, administrative, financial, housing and employment assistance, etc.,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.
