Investing in our country’s resilience today means investing in the stability of Europe tomorrow, said Oleksii Kuleba at a meeting with Members of the European Parliament

During a working visit to Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba held a meeting with Members of the European Parliament from various parties and groups.

Among the parliamentarians were representatives from Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, as well as members of the EP delegation to the Ukraine-EU Parliamentary Association Committee. In particular, Michael Gahler, the EP Committee on Foreign Affairs’ Standing Rapporteur on Ukraine.

Oleksii Kuleba emphasized that there is currently significant interest in Ukraine’s experience.

“We are working in a reality that other countries, unfortunately, are already beginning to face, and we can share practical solutions. Today, Ukraine is effectively a shield. And this shield must be strengthened,” Oleksii Kuleba noted.

The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development team presented to MEPs Ukraine’s approaches to developing the Resilience Plan—a systemic model already being implemented at the regional and community levels. Ukrainian experience has clearly demonstrated that centralized systems are vulnerable. Resilience comes from diversification, distributed generation, and rapid recovery.

Today’s attacks on Ukraine once again clearly demonstrate: russia is not seeking peace. It is testing our resilience and gauging how prepared we are to live and work under constant threat. That is precisely why the key question now is not “will there be a new attack,” but “are we prepared for any scenario".
