India has handed over 50,000 capsules of medication to fight COVID-19 to Ukraine

Ukraine received as humanitarian aid from the Republic of India a shipment of antiviral drugs used in the treatment of patients with coronavirus COVID-19. Such amount of medical products will be sufficient to cure about 5,000 patients.

The humanitarian assistance handover ceremony took place on July 13 at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

"Ukraine is deeply grateful for the humanitarian aid consisting 50 thousand capsules of the drug. This medicine is included in the national treatment protocol and our hospitals, recognized as support hubs in the fight against COVID-19, are eager to obtain it. This shipment will be enough to treat about 5,000 patients," said Ihor Ivashchenko, Deputy Minister of Health for European Integration.

The Ambassador of the Republic of India to Ukraine Mr. Partha Satpathy noted that if necessary, there may be delivered additional supplies of this medication. "The issue of health care is a matter of national security. When we received a request from Ukraine, we decided to help. If it (drug - ed.) is necessary for you, we are ready to provide further assistance", Mr. Partha Satpathy emphasized.

It should be noted that the drug contains 75 mg of the active substance Oseltamivir Phosphate and is included in the Ukrainian protocol for the treatment of coronavirus COVID-19.
