  • Ihor Petrashko met with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia

    Today, October 21, the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko met with H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Ukraine Mohammed bin Suleiman al-Mashar and SALIC Chief Executive Officer Sulaiman Al Rumaih.

    The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister - Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky, representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Ukraine.

    The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss and identify ways to further deepen trade, economic and investment cooperation.

    "Saudi Arabia is one of Ukraine's key trading partners. Last year, this country ranked 2nd among the countries of the Arab world in terms of trade, which we are planning to increase," commented Ihor Petrashko.

    He added that Ukraine is interested in expanding the range of trade in agricultural goods, including value-added products.

    The parties also discussed the further development of investment cooperation with Saudi Arabia, in particular in the fields of agriculture, industry and transport.

    The sides agreed on the importance of holding a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Saudi Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, which is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021.
