Communities to receive funding for the creation of state-run veterans' spaces
The development of a network of state-run veterans' spaces is continuing in Ukraine. Local budgets will shortly receive a state subsidy for the construction and development of such facilities — the Government has approved the relevant procedure and conditions for funding, which allows the implementation of this important project to continue in 2026.
Currently, spaces are being built in seven pilot regions.
State-run veteran spaces shall become key centres for assisting veterans, female veterans, and their family members. These shall not be mere service institutions, but comprehensive centres where all necessary services — from consultations to practical support — can be obtained in one place.
In addition to providing services, the spaces will perform an important social function — they should become centres for communication, interaction and mutual support for those who have gone through the war. They will contribute to recovery, personal development and a return to an active and fulfilling life in the community.
Particular attention is paid to accessibility and safety. All premises shall meet modern accessibility standards so that everyone who needs support can use the services without hindrance and feel comfortable and safe in the space.
The project to create state-run veterans' spaces is an example of effective cooperation between the state and regions to ensure decent living conditions for veterans and their families.
