During a working visit to the Kherson region, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal visited the village of Posad-Pokrovske, where he got acquainted with the reconstruction process and talked to the community.
This settlement is one of the six identified by the Government for comprehensive reconstruction based on the principle of Build Back Better.
"Due to the russian occupation, there are no intact buildings left in Posad-Pokrovske. There are about a thousand buildings in total. The first construction projects have been launched. An outpatient clinic, a community centre, a kindergarten and a lyceum will be built according to modern standards," said Denys Shmyhal.
According to the State Emergency Service, the village is almost 90% demined. The electricity supply has been restored and people are gradually returning to the village.
"The restoration of Posad-Pokrovske should become a model for further reconstruction and modernisation of the whole of Ukraine," the Prime Minister is convinced.

The selected settlements are: Borodianka and Moshchun in Kyiv region, Trostianets in Sumy region, Posad-Pokrovske in Kherson region, Tsirkuny in Kharkiv region and Yahidne in Chernihiv region.
