It is important to impose sanctions against the entire russian nuclear power industry now. There is currently no other quick response to russia’s energy terror. This was stated by Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko during the 9th annual Central and Eastern European Energy Security Conference, organised by the Atlantic Council.

“It is very important to give a powerful response to all these attacks, destruction, and everything that the terrorist state of russia has done in Ukraine. And this response is sanctions,” he said.

According to him, there is currently no other way to respond quickly to this russian terror, so sanctions should be imposed in all areas of the energy sector. “And this applies not only to gas, oil and coal, but also to sanctions in the nuclear sector,” said German Galushchenko.

He reminded that Ukraine already had a successful example of cooperation with the American company Westinghouse. “This is very important, and we hope to expand this cooperation in the future. I think that many of the obstacles that previously existed for the introduction of these sanctions have already disappeared thanks to this cooperation. And I think these sanctions should be promoted wherever possible to make russia feel that it is the only one responsible for everything that is happening in Ukraine,” the Minister added.
