Ukraine will continue to reform its energy sector, and one of the most important tasks on this path is integration into the European electricity and gas markets.
This was emphasised by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko during the broadcast of the National Telethon.
The Energy Minister recalled that this week the European Commission published a report assessing the reforms implemented by Ukraine.
“This report praised the reforms in the energy sector. We have really done a lot, and the most important thing is that we did these reforms during the war. We did not stop for a single day during the large-scale aggression and kept moving forward,” the Minister stressed.
In particular, the European Commission noted the adoption of the law on the prevention of abuses on wholesale energy markets, which is aimed at implementing the REMIT regulation, as well as the continuation of the corporate reform of the Ukrainian gas transmission system operator.
“We still have a lot of work to do: the integration of the electricity and gas markets and the implementation of European rules. These are our plans for next year. In doing so, we feel the support of our partners and their willingness to help us implement the necessary rules as quickly as possible,” said German Galushchenko.
