Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko took part in the Norwegian-Ukrainian Roundtable on the eve of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) in Rome.

"We are grateful to Norway for the extraordinary solidarity that Ukraine feels on your part. Norway is one of the leaders in supporting Ukraine, in particular in the energy sector," said German Galushchenko.

The Minister thanked Norway for contributing EUR 35.5 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund to facilitate the restoration of damaged infrastructure, implementation of decentralised solutions and preparations for the winter. Since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion, by the end of 2024, Norway's total assistance had reached USD 5.3 billion.

German Galushchenko stressed the particular importance of cooperation with Norwegian partners in the gas sector.

The Minister of Energy noted that this cooperation allowed Ukraine not only to maintain the stability of the energy system in the face of daily hostile attacks, but also to prepare for the next heating season.

Cooperation at the commercial level is of particular importance.

"This is more than just business or partnership. This is a true friendship that helps our countries make projects as effective as possible," he said.

German Galushchenko emphasised that future cooperation projects between the two countries could significantly enhance energy security not only for Ukraine but for the whole of Europe, particularly in the context of the EU's plans to fully abandon russian energy carriers.
