Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with the newly appointed members of the Supervisory Board of NPC Ukrenergo to discuss the company's priorities under the difficult conditions of martial law.

“Unfortunately, almost every night Ukrenergo’s substations are subject to enemy attacks. Despite this, even after 13 large-scale attacks last year, when more than 1,700 different drones and missiles were used to destroy energy facilities, we managed to survive,” said German Galushchenko.

The key task is to ensure the stable operation of the Integrated Power System of Ukraine in sync with ENTSO-E, as well as to ensure Ukraine’s energy sustainability and independence.

Particular attention was paid to discussing financial and technical aspects of the company’s development, as well as cooperation with ENTSO-E and other energy market participants.

The participants discussed deepening cooperation with European operators to further integrate the energy systems of Ukraine and the EU and to receive comprehensive support in the context of the destruction of Ukraine’s energy system as a result of targeted attacks by the aggressor.

German Galushchenko also stressed the need to hold a transparent competition for the selection and appointment of the company’s management board and its CEO as soon as possible.
