Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a Government sitting commented on the demand of MPs to dismiss Deputy Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Oleksandr Linchevskyi because of his statement on the effectiveness of treatment of cancer patients abroad.
"I'm not going to protect anyone, and human pain is familiar to me. The dismissive attitude to someone else's grief is inadmissible. However, I propose a meeting of a special (disciplinary) commission, which will consider the issue (statements made by the Deputy Minister), be public. I am ready to implement any joint decision. I do not avoid responsibility. The guilty must be punished, and the innocent should be protected", the Prime Minister claimed.
The Head of Government stressed that life is priceless, thus the task of the state authorities is to establish decent conditions for treatment in Ukraine and added that any gray schemes concerning figures and facts should be eradicated.
"For me the health care system is a specific priority. Everyone knows the state of this system, the Prime Minister emphasized. I am grateful to the Parliament for decisions taken, thus it will allow to implement transformations in this sector. I know for sure that doctors at the primary level will feel that the change of system was a right decision. It will take a little time."
