The national flag of Ukraine is a symbol of statehood and independence, a symbol of the indefatigable spirit and a symbol of the right to democracy and free choice. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the ceremonial raising of the state flag in front of the Government Building. The ceremony became part of a major action within the framework of which Ukrainian flag traveled across four continents and was exhibited in government buildings, communities and at the squares of large and small cities.
"On the eve of the Independence Day of Ukraine we celebrate a momentous day - the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine. It is a symbol of our stateness and independence, a symbol of the indomitable spirit and a symbol of the right to democracy and free choice", the Head of the Government underscored.
He emphasized that Ukrainians under this flag defend independence.
"I want to thank the volunteers from all over the world, who have carried the Ukrainian flag in many countries and I want to express gratitude to the soldiers who defend our territorial integrity. The flag should become a symbol of peace and economic success, the rule of law, the symbol of full-fledged membership of the EU and NATO. I want to thank every Ukrainian who keeps the blue and yellow flag in the heart", Volodymyr Groysman claimed.
