Prime Minister initiates adoption of severe decision on participation of pharmacies in Available Medicines program
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman initiates adoption of a rigorous decision in accordance with which the pharmacies of municipal hospitals will be obliged to become the Available medicines program participant. The Head of Government made this statement during a visit to the district hospital in Nosivka, Chernihiv region.
During the conversation with doctors and patients, the Prime Minister reminded that over the two years 36 million prescriptions were issued under the Available Medicines program. And the number of pharmacies engaged in the program has reached 7000.
"But how can it be that a hospital being funded through budgets of different levels does not have a pharmacy where affordable medicines are? For example, one can see a pharmacy and a "discount for pensioners" sign, but instead they should have an Affordable medicines sticker. Then patients with chronic illnesses can get medicines not at a discount, but free of charge! I think there is a need for rigorous decision. No one should make a profit off of the misery of others", Volodymyr Groysman underscored.
