Ukraine should become a country of united, capable communities led by leaders who respect their fellow villagers and voters. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a conversation with media outlets in Nosivska consolidated community, Chernihiv region. The community was formed in 2016 and now unites dozens of villages and the district center - the city of Nosivka. Since amalgamation the budget of the community taking into account direct budgetary subventions has increased from UAH 25 million to UAH 165 million. In this community the construction of school, which has been lasting for almost 30 years, is being completed, the equipment of the district hospital is being updated in accordance with the requirements of the program "Free Diagnostics", and local authorities provide housing thereby motivating them to come to work in the community. Last year the central road was renewed and local roads are gradually being renovated.
The Head of Government visited a local sports school in which winners of major international competitions train and where hockey rink and renovated football stadium are opened. The Prime Minister checked the progress of the completion of construction of the center for administrative services provision and got acquainted with the work of the local communal enterprise Nosivka – Communalnik which provides a range of services, including maintenance of road surfaces.
"Problems are being solved in the regions headed by responsible leaders. I travel a lot around the country and I see how decentralization process is being implemented. I want to see Ukraine as a country of united communities. I believe that in 2020 the process of amalgamation should be completed", Volodymyr Groysman stressed.
The Head of Government underlined that existence of such communities is the goal of decentralization that today must be protected and further developed. "We have already begun a public discussion of amendments to the Constitution in the part of decentralization. We have decided to halve the number of district and regional state administrations. Our main priority is to ensure that the communities are capable and independent", Volodymyr Groysman stated.
