Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman pushes forward to hold large-scale inspections of forestry enterprises for smuggling forests, appealed to the Prosecutor General with a request to verify the facts of such smuggling, and also asked the partners from the European Union to provide information on the products of forestry that are transported across the state border. The Head of Government said this during the Government sitting.
"We have different kinds of smuggling. One of those is forest smuggling. We have reports from international organizations. The facts are terrible", said Volodymyr Groysman. "I signed an appeal to the General Prosecutor's Office with available information on the offense, and today I propose to make a decision of the Government so that the State Audit Service, the SFS, the National Police, and the State GeoCadastre would begin thorough inspection of all the forestry companies of the country, in particular the data on way-bills, who signed, who shipped, who issued clearance, where products were transported".
The Head of Government stressed that all those involved in illegal logging, the illegal export and import of forests, will bear responsibility.
"We stop the illegal flow of goods. Our work yeilds its first results. I will continue to unmask all the shadow schemes that are in effect. And I will struggle to prevent such schemes. The fight will be fruitful", said Volodymyr Groysman. "I will not turn a blind eye to any scheme that makes Ukraine poorer. I appeal to all law-enforcers - let's unite and crush all these schemes. Let's show people the result of this struggle."
