On June 12, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman met  with mine workers of the state enterprise Lvivvyhillia, leadership of Lviv regions and Chervonograd city. The reason for the meeting was difficult situation at the enterprise where wage arrears are rising, production is  not shipped, and mining  is halted at some mines because of misunderstandings with the management of the coal mines. These issues make ordinary workers either to seek for additional earnings, or go to work to neighboring Poland, or to protest.

"I responded to the offer to meet. It is important for me to discuss problems, find out their reasons and  take actions aimed to prevent such cases in the future", Volodymyr Groysman stressed.

The miners confirmed the information of the Head of Government that the coal produced by the mines of the SE Lvivvyhillia must be procured by the state-owned Centralenergo, which is currently under the management of the State Property Fund. But there are no purchases. That is why the mines do not have circulating funds, thus workers can not receive wages.During the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Ihor Nasalyk and the management of the State Property Fund to unblock purchases and make state-owned coal mines a priority for state energy companies. At the same time, Volodymyr Groysman instructed the State Audit Service to verify the formation of the cost of coal at state mines and denied all  rumors about the possible privatization of profitable mines association.

Apart from that, the Head of Government placed a special emphasis on the question of the appointment of the management of mines and the whole enterprise. Proposals to appoint candidates to the relevant posts will be discussed already tomorrow. Moreover, the key criterion for selection is the trust of the miners.

"There is  SE Lvivvyhillia and its management. The leadership has to organize work  in such a way - the miner  worked his working shift - received a salary and that’s it. So we need to elect a leader whom workers can trust. I will monitor this issue. The situation at the SE Lvivvyhillia must be solved on a systematic basis. The situation in Chernograd may serve as an illustrative example", the  Head of Government underscored.
