The integration of the electricity markets of Ukraine and the EU will be the next stage after the technical synchronization of our energy systems.
This was emphasized by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko during the briefing.
"So far, we have achieved technical synchronization. The issue of commercial export-import is considered as the next stage. I really hope that this will happen in the near future," said the Minister.
German Galushchenko stressed that both Ukraine and our European partners are interested in establishing a full-fledged commercial circulation of electricity. "We can see nowadays that there are requests to buy electricity in Ukraine," he added.
The Minister of Energy also stressed that the synchronization of Ukraine's Unified Energy System with the European ENTSO-E will give a new powerful impetus to the development of Ukraine's electricity sector and increasing investment.
"It gives a lot of opportunities for the domestic energy sector and in terms of development, investment, opportunities for our generations in European markets that will open up soon. We believe that after the victory it will be a rather weighty mechanism for developing investment opportunities and rebuilding our energy system," said German Galushchenko.
The Ukrainian energy system has proved its resilience even in the current conditions of war, the Minister stressed during the briefing: "And now, being part of the power grid of the European Union, we have become even stronger. Now we are even more confident that Ukrainian consumers will be provided with light, while the power system will continue to operate efficiently and reliably."
