France to provide Ukraine with EUR 71 million in grant financial support, says Denys Shmyhal

France plans to provide Ukraine with EUR 71 million in grant financial support, part of which shall be directed towards assisting the Ukrainian energy sector. This was agreed by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Economy, Finance, Industrial, Energy and Digital Sovereignty of France, Roland Lescure. As part of the International Energy Agency's events in Paris, Denys Shmyhal and Roland Lescure also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between Ukraine and the French Republic in the field of nuclear energy.

"This lays a solid foundation for deepening our strategic partnership and forms a framework for the restoration and modernisation of Ukraine's energy sector," Denys Shmyhal emphasised.

He expressed his gratitude to French partners for their consistent support and solidarity.

"Ukraine has already received more than 50 shipments of humanitarian energy aid, including more than 140 powerful generators. France has allocated an additional EUR 5.7 million to the Energy Support Fund. We are particularly grateful to the French government for its decision to supply an additional 150 generators to Ukraine in February," said Denys Shmyhal.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine also highlighted three infrastructure projects that Ukraine is implementing together with France to ensure the stability of regional energy systems.

"We can see the commitment and willingness of French companies to continue and deepen cooperation," emphasised Denys Shmyhal.
