Energy efficient reconstruction and transformation is a broad horizon for cooperation between Ukraine and Germany. This was emphasised by Hanna Zamazeyeva, Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, at the 3rd German-Ukrainian Energy Day in Berlin, Germany.
Participants discussed both urgent priorities for the restoration of Ukraine’s energy system and a long-term strategy for energy efficiency transformation. In this area, the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving has a clear vision and is actively working to implement it. This includes work on legislation, tools, attracting investors and international partners, and much more.
“I am firmly convinced that real success is possible in close cooperation with local communities and, of course, with the support of leading EU countries, in particular Germany,” said Hanna Zamazeyeva, expressing her gratitude to partners such as the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, GIZ, the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership, DENA, etc.
“Together with the German Energy Agency (DENA) we are preparing a fully operational biomethane register that will meet the requirements of Ukrainian and European legislation,” said the head of the Agency.
During the joint work, experts from the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving and DENA reached joint decisions on many issues related to the functioning of the register.
“The main thing is that we will have a biomethane register. Both Ukrainian and foreign companies are waiting for it. The launch of the register should be a sign of a high level of responsibility and trust in cooperation between the two countries,” Hanna Zamazeyeva concluded.
