Affordable Loans at 5-7-9%: Ukrainian businesses have received UAH 69 billion in concessional loans since the beginning of the year

Last week, Ukrainian entrepreneurs received 375 loans worth UAH 1.1 billion under the Affordable Loans at 5-7-9% programme. In total, since the beginning of the year, businesses have received 18,532 soft loans totalling UAH 69 billion, and since the start of the 5-7-9% programme (February 2020) – 97,500 loans totalling UAH 335.9 billion.

“The Government has focused the terms of the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% programme on investment purposes and the development of energy capacities of businesses, condominiums and housing cooperatives. The share of such loans is constantly growing. Thanks to the concessional funds, Ukrainian enterprises are developing production and increasing the output of high value-added products. This contributes to economic recovery, job creation and increased budget revenues. Concessional loans are also available to businesses operating in high-risk areas,” said Deputy Minister of Economy Andrii Teliupa.

Businesses have received the following under the programme:

  • UAH 18.4 billion – to replenish working capital;
  • UAH 16.1 billion – for lending in the high-risk combat zone;
  • UAH 16.0 billion – for processing;
  • UAH 14.5 billion – for investment loans.

The programme is most commonly used by companies operating in agriculture, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade.

Among the regions, the leaders in terms of the amount of loan agreements concluded are Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Poltava regions and the city of Kyiv.

As of today, 46 banks participate in the programme, with Privatbank (45,400), Oschadbank (15,100) and Raiffeisen Bank (5,400) disbursing the largest number of loans since the programme’s launch.
