Along the Path following URC 2025: Strengthening Cooperation between International Partners and Civil Society

On 16 December 2025, with the participation of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, an event was held entitled "Along the Path following URC 2025: Strengthening Cooperation between International Partners and Civil Society", organised by the Ukrainian Women's Fund and dedicated to the implementation of gender mainstreaming and inclusion in the processes of Ukraine's recovery.

During the event, the participants discussed practical steps to implement the recommendations of the "10 Blocks of Gender-Sensitive and Inclusive Recovery" in international projects included in the Roadmap for Planning Further Steps in Implementing Gender Mainstreaming in Recovery for 2025-2026. The main focus was on the obstacles to implementing the recommendations and ways to overcome them.

The event brought together representatives of international development partners, the Platform for Gender Mainstreaming and Inclusion in Recovery, the International Alliance for Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Recovery, the Sectoral Working Group for Coordination of International Technical Assistance on Gender Equality, as well as representatives of civil society – members of the Platform's Advisory Panel.

Opening the event, Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Kateryna Levchenko emphasised that the results of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2025) demonstrated the effectiveness of a systematic approach to integration of a gender component in all aspects of recovery and confirmed the importance of coordinated interaction between the state, international partners and civil society on the path to Ukraine's participation in the next session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women and the subsequent Ukraine Recovery Conference URC 2026.

During the event, there was presented the Roadmap for the Implementation of Gender Mainstreaming and Inclusion in Ukraine's Recovery for 2025-2026, developed as a result of a joint meeting of the Platform for Gender Mainstreaming and Inclusion in Recovery, the International Alliance for Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Recovery, and the Sectoral Working Group for the Coordination of International Technical Assistance on Gender Equality, which took place in August this year.

Particular attention was paid to the recommendations of the Civil Society Advisory Panel on Block 9 "International Technical Assistance Programme for Recovery and Development, aimed at removing gender barriers in all sectors", and Block 10 "Support by International Partners for Women's Rights Organisations in Gender-Sensitive and Inclusive Recovery Processes".

In working groups, participants developed practical recommendations for integrating the principles of gender-sensitive and inclusive recovery into international projects and activities. The proposals developed will be used in the further operational planning of the Civil Society Advisory Panel's work, as well as in the preparation for the Ukraine Recovery Conference URC 2026.
