The current education reform implies not just introducing new methods and a new Ukrainian school. This is the creation of an entirely new educational environment for children, an educational infrastructure that includes 4 essential components: energy efficiency, barrier-free environment, security and new motivational design. The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko emphasized this during the Question Time for the Government at the Verkhovna Rada.
"There are already 450 NESs functioning in Ukraine, only 150 - since the beginning of the year. By the end of the year, we plan to get 600 NESs. We have approved new state building standards applying for schools and kindergartens. They concern not only barrier-free approach and energy efficiency, but also new approaches to the organization of the educational process. For example, new SBSs (state building standards) allow us to build kindergartens up to 70 places into residential complexes, where there is a certain deficit of the territory", said Hennadii Zubko.
The official stressed that all changes were aimed primarily at introducing a new quality, and therefore fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services, the Ministry of Education and Science, the line committee of the Parliament and local governments is critical in this direction.
