In the face of the coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has begun coordinating humanitarian aid. The MFA negotiates with international partners and Ukrainian business, and engages in coordinating the work of Ukrainian agencies on this issue.

“It is now critical for Ukraine not only to involve the assistance of international partners but also to direct it to solve the most pressing problems. The effectiveness of the fight against the spread of coronavirus in Ukraine greatly depends on better coordination of action of the Government, business, the public and international organizations. Today, the center of such coordination is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine,” stressed Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba.

Ukrainian diplomats are looking for specialized medical equipment, medicines, personal protective equipment, COVID-19 test kits and other means that Ukraine needs to counteract the coronavirus and can be delivered as humanitarian aid or purchased for our country's needs.

Negotiations are already underway with the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine, the International Committee of the Red Cross Delegation in Ukraine, the Ukrainian World Congress, and other international organizations and partners that can support Ukraine amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It is significant that business remains active in this tense situation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is aware of the initiatives of many private companies aimed at overcoming the epidemic and its consequences. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine invites all such projects to announce their intentions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in order to facilitate the purchases they make abroad and by joining efforts to direct assistance where it is most needed.

In cooperation with other executive authorities, in particular, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is constantly updating the list of actual needs and available opportunities for assistance.

The Association Ukrainian-Chinese Cooperation, the Asters Law Firm, the SMEC company of China, as well as the Unifer and Cosmolot companies have already submitted their proposals of support to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls on business, organizations and communities of Ukrainians around the world to join forces in the fight for health and safety.
