Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain José Manuel Albares Bueno.

The conversation was held in the context of consolidation of the international pressure on the Russian Federation to deter it from further aggression.

Dmytro Kuleba informed his Spanish counterpart in detail about the current security situation in light of the Russian military build-up near Ukraine’s state border and in the temporarily occupied by Russia territories of Ukraine. The Minister separately paid great attention to the non-military dimensions of the Russian aggression, inter alia to Russia's attempts to undermine economic and financial stability of our state.

José Bueno assured of Spain's full support for Ukraine's efforts aimed at restoring sovereignty and territorial integrity by political and diplomatic means. In this context, the ministers coordinated further steps regarding the negotiation process with Russia in the framework of the network diplomacy, which purpose is to keep the Russian Federation on the track of diplomatic negotiations and force it to de-escalate.

The head of the Spanish diplomacy informed Dmytro Kuleba that there are no intentions to evacuate family members of the Spanish Embassy’s staff in Kyiv at this stage.

José Bueno positively responded to the request of the head of the Ukrainian diplomacy to pay a visit to Ukraine in the near future to demonstrate solidarity with the Ukrainian people amid Russia’s aggressive actions.
