Exports of goods from Ukraine in Q1 2019 grew by 7.4%, compared to Q1 2018, and amounted to $12.3 billion. According to data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the European Union market is number one market for Ukrainian exporters. Its share in total exports amounted to 42.7%. The agricultural sector and metallurgy products are in greatest demand in the commodity segment. Moreover, the growth of grain exports in Q1 was 52%.
Exports of services demonstrated a growing trend as well - by 12.3% up to $2.87 billion. In the services segment, the EU market is also ranked first with a 33.6% share. By type of services, the most demanded areas are transport, telecommunications, business services, including scientific sector, and processing industry.
Indicators of overall economic growth complement the trends in export development. According to operational estimates of the State Statistics Service, the growth of Ukraine's real GDP in the first quarter amounted to 2.2%. Ukraine's economy shows off a growing trend for the 13th consecutive quarter.
