The official Declaration on behalf of 27 EU Member States and other international partners, i.e. the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, etc., states that cyberattacks targeting Ukraine, including its critical infrastructure, could spill over into other countries and cause systemic effects. All this is putting the security of Europeans at risk.

“The European Union, working closely with its partners, is considering further steps to prevent, discourage, deter and respond to such malicious behaviour in cyberspace. The European Union will continue to provide coordinated political, financial and material support to Ukraine to strengthen its cyber resilience,” reads the document.

It should be reminded that the number of cyberattacks since the beginning of the full-scale russian military invasion of Ukraine has more than doubled. According to the Computer Emergency Response Team of Ukraine (CERT-UA) under the SSSCIP, 551 cyberattacks have been detected in the last 2.5 months.
